Department of History of Saratov State University: the Time, the Events, the People

In the article author describes major peculiarities of development of Historical Department of Saratov State University from 1917 until the nowadays. During this period faculty and its teachers lived through the grate scientific ascensions, professional success as well as drastic tragedies which was not only harmful for their academic careers, but also sometimes lead to loss of their lives in Stalin’s prison-camps.

Historical Sources of Private Origin of the Era of Peter the Great

Article shows principal milestones in the evolution of historical sources of private origin, as well as characteristics of the «ego-texts» of the era of Peter the Great. This era is viewed as the starting point of historical sources of private origin’s forming. Comparative analyses demonstrates continuity between «ego-texts» of the era of Peter the Great and hagiography literature.

Англиканское духовенство в Войне за независимость США

В статье анализируется сложное положение англиканского клира на территории Тринадцати колоний во время Американской революции. Особое внимание уделяется тому, как Высокая церковь, находясь под давлением политических изменений, адаптировалась к новым реалиям и как это влияло на ее членов. Исследуются примеры конкретных священников и их действия в ходе конфликта. Исследование подчеркивает, что англиканское духовенство не только отражало, но и формировало общественные настроения, играя важную роль в процессе становления американской идентичности.

Демографический переход в Синьцзян-Уйгурском автономном районе в 2000-е годы в контексте национальной политики КНР

Статья посвящена анализу демографического перехода в Синьцзян-Уйгурском автономном районе КНР в контексте общемировых закономерностей и национальной специфики. На основе статистических данных и научных исследований рассматриваются ключевые этапы и особенности этого процесса в регионе с высокой долей этнических меньшинств. В работе исследуется комплекс факторов, определивших эту специфику: собственно, демографические изменения, ускоренный социально-экономический прогресс, эволюция национальной демографической политики.

Борьба незаконных вооруженных формирований с советской властью в Таджикской ССР в начале 1930-х гг.

Статья посвящена анализу военно-политического кризиса в Таджикской ССР начала 1930-х годов, вызванного активизацией незаконных вооруженных формирований под руководством Ибрагим-Бека. На основе архивных материалов (сводок ОГПУ, докладных записок командования Красной Армии) исследуются причины возрождения басмаческого движения после его подавления в 1920-х гг., тактика прорыва банд на советскую территорию весной 1931 года и стратегия СССР по ликвидации угрозы.

Процессы демократизации в Великобритании XIX века в работах дореволюционных историков.

Аннотация. В статье рассмотрены взгляды дореволюционных историков конца XIX – начала XX вв. на демократизацию Британской избирательной системы через три парламентских реформы 1832, 1867 и 1884 гг. Делается вывод, что данные реформы рассматривались представителями «русской исторической школы» в контексте общего политического развития страны, без глубокого анализа. Выявлено, что наибольшее внимание историки уделяли первой парламентской реформе 1832 г., которой приписывали революционное значение, тогда как последующие реформы рассматривались более фрагментарно.

The International Monetary Fund in the focus of party rivalry in the United States (late XX – early XXI centuries)

The article is devoted to the study of the evolution of the International Monetary Fund under the influence of various international interests, primarily the political elite of the United States. The main focus is on analyzing the IMF reform process and the impact of various American administrations on it. The assumption is substantiated that D. Trump’s return will not terminate the US membership in the fund, he will try to adapt it to solving his strategic tasks.

The “Iranian Awakening” in the perception of the Western observer: Myths and reality

The article attempts to analyze the materials of Western travelogues concerning the events in Iran in 1905–1911, which became a powerful ideological factor in the domestic political life of the country, for the first time so powerfully and obviously faced with the influence of Western ideas, the central part of which were the representative form of government, the constitution and the institution of the Majlis. It is no coincidence that these events were called the “Iranian awakening” (рers. bidari-ye irani) in ideological terms and the “constitutional movement” (рers.

Hendrik de Man vs. Karl Kautsky – Toward a history of ideological discussions in German Social Democracy in the 1920s

On the basis of archival materials and published documents the article deals with the polemics between Hendrik de Man and Karl Kautsky onthe problem of psychology of socialism in 1926–1927. It is shownthatthis ideological dispute was connected withthe generaltendency in German and international social democracy to move away from Marxism towards ideological pluralism.

Сrime in Munster in XVII century

Based on the analysis of the preservedmaterials of the judicial and investigative cases the article examines the state of crime in Munster in XVII century. The author analyzes the structure of crime depending on the prevalence of acts in judicial practice, and also examines the socioprofessional composition of criminals.
