Formation of Soviet control bodies (1926–1934)

The article considers the activities of the authorities in the direction of finding an acceptable model for the organization of control in a Soviet-type society. Based on archival sources, methods and technologies related to the involvement of workers to the work of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Inspectorate and the construction of the entire system of functioning of control departments are analyzed.

Establishment of people’s control in Soviet Russia: Social and political practice

The article examines the activities of the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic) authorities in the search for the optimal model of organization of control in the Soviet-type society in the early 1920s. The methods and techniques directly or indirectly related to the involvement of workers in the work of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Inspectorate and the construction of the whole system of functioning of this control agency are analyzed on the material of archival sources.

Status and Functions of the Mayor of Nakhichevan-on-Don According to the Materials of the Audit By Senator M. N. Zhemchuzhnikov

The report of Senator Zhemchuzhnikov on the results of the audit of the Nakhichevan district in 1844 contains significant materials on the organization and activities of the self-government bodies of the Armenian colony in the Lower Don Region, formed in 1779 by Armenian immigrants from the Crimea. The duties of the mayor were not determined either by law or public sentence, and therefore the limits of his power depended on personal qualities and on the respect that he commanded in the district.
