G.V. Chicherin and the Soviet Foreign Policy in the East Countries

The article is devoted looks and activity of folk commissar on foreign affairs George Vasilievich Chicherin in the field of soviet east policy. On the basis of the archived documents an author exposes or specifies the role of Chicherina in several events 1920-kh, related to becoming and development of relations of Soviet Russia with its east neighbours. Many of these documents are entered in a scientific turn first.

N. G. Chernyshevsky’s survey reviews on historical and geographical works of A. S. Norov

A wide range of diverse works represents the scientific, journalistic and literary heritage of N. G. Chernyshevsky. Reviews and surveys of historical works occupy a prominent place among them. The paper attempts to analyse two such surveys on the historical studies of the Minister of Public Education A. S. Norov. The author of the paper concludes that N. G. Chernyshevsky thoroughly reviewed his scientific publications showing a deep knowledge of the issues presented there. N. G. Chernyshevsky’s analytical reviews can be considered as some addition to the problems of A.

“European Ideological Path has been Passed over…” (Eurasian Stance of Nickolay Trubetskoy

The article considers public and political stance of one of the respected thought leaders within the Russian “first wave” emigration, a front man of the Eurasian community, duke Nickolay Sergeevich Trubetskoy. His attitude to the key issues of state-building formed under the influence of radical societal transformation in Russia has been analyzed on the basis of different sources.

«Eastern agreement» of Ismail Gasprinsky: The formation of an early Eurasian concept (1880–1890s)

The article is devoted to the formation of the Eurasian intellectual tendency in Russia – based on the material of the Turkic social thought. The views of the Turkic-Muslim leader Ismail Gasprinsky are reconstructed. His ideas about the rapprochement between Russia and Turkey, about a potential «Eastern agreement» with the participation of Russia, Turkey, Persia and the Balkan states are shown. It is concluded that the idea of an «Eastern agreement» is (in terms of content and meaning) an early Eurasian/pro-Eurasian concept.
