The article describe the image of Hussite ́ s epoch, which reflect in story by the writer S. Czech. The author discover a spot of this epoch in historical memory of Czech people.

The image of Cu Chulainn in the Irish historical memory in the Gaelic revival in the 19th–20th centuries

This article is devoted to the analysis of the representation of the image of Cu Сhulainn in the Irish historical memory in the Gaelic revival. The author reveals the image of a mythical character from the Ulster cycle. The researcher revealed the meaning of the hero in the works of W. B. Yeats. Cu Сhulainn became a national hero and became a symbol of Irish identity. And the legends served as an ideological basis for the development of nationalism and the struggle of the Irish for the independence of the country.

Celebration of the 300th Anniversary of the House of Romanov in the cities of the Volga region

On the materials of the state archives of Samara, Kazan, Cheboksary and on published historical sources the article analyzes the preparations for the celebrations dedicated to the 300th anniversary ofthe Romanov dynasty. It is shownthat preparationsforthe holidaytook on a universal  character, all segments of the population, independent of class, national, religious affiliation, were involved in the process of this preparation. Programs of celebrations are analyzed, they depended on a specific city, its material capabilities and the composition of the population.

In article the initial stage of formation of private museums, motives of collecting, principles of selection of exhibits, ways of placing of collections is considered. Difference of an English private collecting from the continental is analyzed.

Memory of Events in Measurements of Space and Time

The “cultural turn” in socio-humanitarian knowledge led to an intensive analysis of collective representations, including ideas about the past, and at the border of the 20th and 21st centuries the “memorial turn” emphasized the need of the discussions about such analytical category as an event, which acquired a special epistemological status. In “memorial studies”, the principal cognitive attitude is to take into account the socio-historical context and its spatio-temporal dynamics, the probabilistic nature of events and the subjectivity of the actors.

From Humphrey Llwyd to Iolo Morganwg: Main Stages of Development of Antiquarian Tradition of Wales in the XVI – Mid XIX Century

This article is devoted to the analysis of antiquarian tradition of Wales in the XVI – mid-XIX century. The author highlights the basic stages and reasons for the development of Welsh antiquarianism, and also on the example of the works of a number of Welsh antiquaries gives an assessment of their contribution to the study of the past of the western Celtic region of Britain.

Historical memory of how Peter I introduced shaving and wearing «German» dresses

The article is devoted to the reflection in historical memory of the introduction of shaving and wearing «German» dresses by Peter I. This measure was aimed at overcoming religious prejudices and instilling a European way of life. It is fixed in the cultural memory of the post-Petrine era as a metaphor for the rebirth of Russia and the image of «Europeanization». Historians, publicists, and writers in their writings combined it with the metaphor «window to Europe» and constructed the image of Peter I, who cuts beards with an axe.
