The article is devoted to the study of the problem of the Clinton administration participation in the process of the Taliban movement coming to power in Afghanistan. Geopolitical and economic reasons of the American interest in the formation of a strong regime in the country along with the influence of other countries and private corporations on this process are also analyzed.
